The Army Heritage Museum

India is home to the third largest military force in the world. During 2010, the Indian Armed Forces had reported 1.3 million active personnel and 2.1 million reserve personnel, in addition to 1.3 million paramilitary personnel.

With its long history come long wars, and India has survived many such battles. With politically charged neighbors, it is imperative that India has one of the strongest army in the world. The bravery of the soldiers and the heroism is now preserved in the ARMY HERITAGE MUSEUM.

Tourists can now get a glimpse of the 5,000 years old year old rich tradition at the Army Heritage Museum at Annandale, Shimla.

Established by the Army Training Command in May 2006 at Annandale, Shimla, this museum commemorates Himachal’s long lasting association with the Army.

The timings to visit the museum are as follows:

Summers(Apr to Oct) Winters (Nov to Mar)
10:00am to 02:00pm 10:00am to 02:00pm
03:00pm to 05:00pm 03:00pm to 04:00pm
The museum is closed on Mondays & Gazetted Holidays.

Entry to the museum is free. The museum is located at Annandale, Shimla which is approximately 4.5 km from Vidhan Sabha.
