1. Munnar

Munnar is the most popular tourist place kerala. that is a hill station and town of Idukki district. That are located in the Idukki district of the kerala. Kerala state are located in the southwestern India. Munnar is situated in the western ghats range of mountains at around 1,650 metres above sea level.

The nearest railway stations are at Ernakulam and Aluva around 135 kilometres by road and the nearest airport is Cochin international Airport, 105 kilometres. The Munnar name mean is believed to “three rivers”, Mudhirapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundaly rivers, referring to its location at the confluence. Munnar town is situated on the Kannan Devan Hills village in Devikulam taluk and is the largest panchayat in the Idukki district covering an area of nearly 600 square kilometres.

  • Eravikulam National Park

eravikulam_national_parkOne of the main attractions near Munnar is the Eravikulam National Park. This park is famous for its endangered inhabitant – the Nilgiri Tahr. Spread over an area of 97 sq. km., this park is also home to several species of rare butterflies, animals and birds. A great place for trekking, the park offers a magnificent view of the tea plantations and also the rolling hills caressed by blankets of mists. The park becomes a hot destination when the hill slopes here get covered in a carpet of blue, resulting from the flowering of Neelakurinji. It is a plant endemic to this part of the Western Ghats which blooms once in twelve years.

2. Varkala

Varkala is a coastal town, that situated in the south India state Kerala. Varkala is a tourist place is located in Thiruvananthapuram district situated in the south India state Kerala. It is the suburban town of Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum city), around 45 kilometres North-west of Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) and 35 km south-west of Kollam city.

Varkala is also famous for Janardana Swami Temple 2,000-year old which is an important Vaishnavaite shrine in India and is often referred to as Dakshin Kashi Benares of the South. The temple is located close to the Papanasam beach, which is considered to have holy waters which wash away sins, and is also an important Ayurveda treatment centre. The temple has an ancient bell removed from a shipwreck, donated by the captain of the Dutch vessel which sank near Varkala without causing any casualties.
