Year’s much awaited trade event INDIA INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR (IITF) 2016 is all set to unveil its 36th appearance at Pragati Maidan on 14th November 2016, and will be continued till 27th November. One of the momentous parts of 2016 trade event is its theme, which will be based on NaMo’s dream project ‘Digital India’. International Trade Fair is also known for its enormous business ambience providing an extensive exposure to the buyers and sellers across the sphere. According to market experts, the prime focus of ‘Digital India’ theme will be prioritizing several awareness programmes like Digi Swachha Abhiyaan and Mera Aadhaar. What they believe is that the event will positively give a global exposure to our young entrepreneurs, farmers, students, women and many other who dream to portray their handmade proficiency towards the global audience. Nevertheless, the organizer of the event, Indian Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) is also setting up for industry interaction through effectual seminars, panel discussion, games and many other demonstration services. Keeping in mind the unexplored expertise of indigenous crafts, success stories of many self-employed youths from far-flung areas and their contribution towards the society will also be highlighted during this event.
According to Guna Sekaran (General Manager, ITPO), all the state and central ministries will project the ‘Digital India’ theme this year in their respective booths. Around 7,000 Indian and international firms and almost 150 companies across 24 countries are reported to be a part of this mega event at Pragati Maidan. Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are going to be the partner states, while Haryana and Telangana are selected as the focus states.
In Indian sub-continent, IITF is considered as one of the biggest fairs for consumer goods. From the context of Modi government, it is being observed that the concept of ‘Digital India’ has already attained manifold success in implementing various projects like Meri Sarkar (MyGov) and Mera Digital Locker. Hence, organizers are certain that ‘Digital India’ theme is going to set an equal benchmark as compared to preceding year’s ‘Make in India’ theme. As per the government source, a theme pavilion is going to be developed in hall number one. Consequently, communication in this regard has already been sent to all the Secretaries of Line ministries and State Chief Secretaries to come forward with their initiative policies to make this dream a grand success. The first five days of the event will be exclusive for business practices and as the show proceeds, it will be open to the public. South Korea has been selected as the partner country this year, and a pavilion has also been dedicated for their merchandise. While Belarus is going to be the focus country this time. In order to be very explicit about this year’s theme, organizers will also endeavour to induce the trade participants to contribute and benefit from the economic progress of the nation. Precedence will also be given to Bihar to uplift its unexplored potentials in front of the global viewers.
It is being reported that keeping in count the topical Indo-Pak cleft, no participants from Pakistan will be allowed this year to be a part of this mega event. The buzz is also that Pakistan has withdrawn its participation from the cornerstone of Indian trading show around 15 days ago . It cannot be denied that Pakistan pavilion had always been the hub of magnetism for visitors every year, and the textiles and handicrafts from Pakistan were the key highlights. This is probably for the first time in many years, viewers will miss the striking crafts of Pakistan and their presence in such comprehensive trade affair.
